-
Art licensing is a type of agreement where you lease artwork from me, as a designer. You can license my design(s) non-exclusively or exclusively. You pay a fee to use my design(s) in accordance with the terms we have agreed.
-
A non-exclusive license allows you to choose one of my existing designs to be manufactured by your preferred printer and sold as finished goods in a single category. I may allow other companies to make a license agreement on non-exclusive terms at the same time and the design will continue to be available for licensing for other categories.
-
The terms of use for a design sold on exclusive license are negotiated and agreed upon upfront by all parties. As the designer, I retain the right to use a design for any other purpose not specified in the licensing agreement during the licensing period for a different category. At the end of the term, you will have the first opportunity to renew the design. If you decide not to re-license, the rights to the design will revert back to me.
-
As the designer, I retain all copyright and ownership of the artwork and all derivative works at all times. Buy-outs can be negotiated but these will incur a higher price.
-
My prices are based on our licensing agreement. There are several factors to consider e.g.
Type of contract - Flat fee; royalty based or buy-out
Type of license - non-exclusive or exclusive
Duration of license terms
Number of territories covered
Number of product categories covered -
Yes, all my pattern designs repeat seamlessly on all four sides, so they can be printed continuously.
-
My seamless pattern artwork is provided in repeating tiles 32 × 32 cm at 600 dpi (12 × 12 inches; 7559 × 7559 px). I can output artwork as .jpeg files or your preferred format. My designs print (300 dpi) 2 x original size and smaller. Due to the fact that my artwork is not vector-based it will not scale up indefinitely without losing resolution.

Yes, I can provide my original pattern tile files with clearly labelled layers should you require them.
